You can drive, fly, bus or train to Fish Rock Dive Centre; we have even had some divers bicycle! If you have any queries about getting to South West Rocks please let us know and we will do our best to help you.

If you are staying in our divers' lodge please note that you are welcome to arrive at anytime even if its the middle of the night. If you are arriving late we will leave a sign in the window under the outside light which will direct you to your room. Please bear in mind that there may be other divers sleeping plus we have neighbors and we live on site at the dive centre!!

by car

Directions from Brisbane, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbour, Nambucca Heads

Fish Rock Dive Centre is approximately 5 1/2 hours from Brisbane by car.
Head south from Brisbane using the Pacific Highway.
South West Rocks is approximately 1 1/4 hours south of Coffs Harbour.
There are two turn offs from the Highway to South West Rocks both of which are south of the Clybucca service station.
The first turn off is signposted to South West Rocks and also to Trial Bay Gaol (the historic gaol). The second turn off is signposted to South West Rocks and Smithtown. These directions assume you take the first turn off.
If you reach Frederickton on the Pacific Highway you have gone too far.
Follow road into South West Rocks go past BiLo though round-about, approximately 500 meters you come up to Costa Rica Motel on the right and Fish Rock Dive Centre.

Directions from Sydney, Newcastle,Taree, Port Macquarie, Kempsey

Fish Rock Dive Centre is approximately 5 hours from Sydney or 1 hour from Port Macquarie by car.
Take the Pacific Highway north from Sydney.
When you reach Kempsey on the Pacific Highway IGNORE signs to South West Rocks using the Tourist Route via Crescent Head (unless you want a longer journey!).
Take the right hand turn in Kempsey signposted to South West Rocks ( Rudder Street).
Follow signs all the way to South West Rocks about 20 plus kilometres. (you will go through the small town of Gladstone)
You will cross a narrow wooden bridge and Follow road into South West Rocks go past BiLo though round about, approximately 500 meters you come up to Costa Rica Motel on the right and Fish Rock Dive Centre.

You can get main bus/coach services to Kempsey our nearest large town. The buses arrive and depart from the Shell Service station on the Pacific Highway in Kempsey.

A connecting local bus service is available weekdays from Kempsey to South West Rocks - these run twice a day return. Please contact Cavanagh's bus service for updated timetables Ph 02 6562 7800. If you use this service ask the bus driver if she/he will drop you off at the Dive Centre as we are on the way to the main bus stop in South West Rocks - see directions above.

Alternatively contact the South West Rocks taxi service to arrange pick up in Kempsey Ph 02 6566 6677. Please confirm approximate charge for this service - around $65.

Countrylink has train services to Kempsey our nearest large town. Advanced purchase tickets are the best value option and the train is usually quicker than the bus!

We recommend Trifty in Port Macquarie ( Call 02 6584 2122 ) - they also have a 14 seater minibus with trailer for groups who fly into Port Macquarie. This can work out to be very economical.
