albino grey nurse shark found

View Video Footage

A rare and amazing albino grey nurse shark has been sighted and filmed here at Fish Rock by a group of divers diving with Fish Rock Dive Centre. More information is available here at www.fishrock.com.au

The divers were left in awe at how unlikely the event they had just witnessed was. This is the first record of an albino grey nurse shark. Grey Nurse Sharks are listed as endangered with estimates of their numbers of the East Coast of Australia often being less than 1000. So this is a rare individual of a rare species.

Reports of the albino grey nurse shark were run around the world in Television, Print and Online media. Here are just some of the articles from print and online sources.

  1. White grey nurse a thrill for divers - Macleay Argus
  2. The albino beast who rules deep - Daily Telegraph reprinted on news.com
  3. An albino grey nurse - Larry Anderson's account
